Christopher N. Wood
Christopher Wood has a 20-year background in association management and a proven track record of fundraising, marketing, and producing successful programs, meetings and special events with an eye toward sustainability and exceeding member expectations. As the executive officer of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry (AAGP), Chris leads the national office; including all business activities and service to members and volunteers. He provides administrative leadership for the association and its subsidiaries and also works with the AAGP Board of Directors on the formation of new policies, procedures, and programs. Before joining Degnon Associates and leading AAGP, Chris was the American Society of Association Executives' (ASAE) director of social responsibility and the ASAE Convene Green Alliance. In this role, was the chief executive of ASAE's 1,000-member Convene Green Alliance (CGA). CGA was the premier source for professional networking, online tools, and resources, as well as outreach and education about producing green meetings and events in the association industry.
Prior, Chris served as the director of GWSAE and later ASAE's Nation's Capital Distinguished Speakers Series – taking place at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. For 13 seasons the series hosted presidents, prime ministers, Nobel Laureates, media personalities, entertainers and other celebrities at the top of their fields speaking on current events and their leadership roles.
